In efforts to help local business and community members affected by the coronavirus pandemic, each are spreading a little cheer by giving back with social outreach and initiatives.

After all, it’s always happy hour somewhere![/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”black”][vc_empty_space][vc_custom_heading text=”Vancouver Island Brewing”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Finding a way to creatively connect with an audience that is stuck indoors was Director of Marketing at Vancouver Island Brewing,  Chris Bjerrisgaard’s, first thought as the regulations surrounding social distancing increased in Vancouver. While restaurants closed their doors to customers in efforts to help flatten the curve, the brewery launched an online store with home delivery. Serving customers while adhering to social distancing measures, the brewery continues to keep employees and customers safe and satisfied. 

In efforts to help their customers and community members, Vancouver Island Brewing has been reaching out to the local community by sharing tips on working from home. Weekly they host #TakeoutThursdays on their Instagram to encourage and support local restaurants and businesses affected by COVID-19. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”17518″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”Grange of Prince Edward Winery”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Mother and daughter duo also known as ‘The Granger Girls’, Caroline and Maggie Granger, have reworked their business, Grange of Prince Edward Winery, to operate completely online.

Cultivating their digital presence as COVID-19 sends the majority of their consumers indoors. The pair has focused efforts to create immersive tasting room experiences on Facebook and Instagram. Bringing some joy to self-isolation, Grange of Prince Edward, is delivering wine education into the living rooms of Ontarians.  Every day an available for purchase wine, and featured story with tasting notes and the wine’s history is highlighted on their social media channels. 

The winery is shipping for free to Ontario and Montreal.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”17516″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”Burdock Brewery”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Jason Stein and Matthew Park, Co-Owners of Burdock Brewery, had to essentially start a new business when they pivoted sale operations to function solely online. Now offering same day shipping in Toronto, it has been a company wide affair as even the owners have been doing their part to ensure on time deliveries and customer satisfaction. 

To support local charities that have been put under significant pressure during the pandemic, Burdock Brewery has added their sourdough starter called ‘MOM’ to their online store. The proceeds from each sale are being donated to those in need.
