Top chefs from around the globe are coming to Miami’s Bal Harbour Village to celebrate cuisine, music, design, and fashion.

Bal Harbour Village has been a Miami beach landmark for art, culture, and fine dining for over 70 years, so it’s no wonder Haute Cuisine organizers landed on this epicentre of style and luxury to host its world-renowned, four-day gastronomic extravaganza. Haute Cuisine originated in Switzerland in 2015 and has since become an annual event where chefs share their culinary skills and creations with the public.

From May 8-11, this South Florida neighbourhood will transform into a food lover’s paradise, complete with cooking classes, a gala, and once-in-a-lifetime dining experiences. Anyone with a taste for award-winning flavours, globally-inspired cuisine, and high-end destinations will want to snag a ticket to this inaugural event.

The chefs

Michelin-star chef Jacques Pourcel

Six famed chefs with a combined nine Michelin stars will be the main attraction of the festival. Jacques Pourcel holds three Michelin stars and is coming all the way from Montpellier, France, where he runs his restaurant, Le Jardin des Sens, with his twin brother Laurent Pourcel. Jean-Baptiste Natali also hails from France. At the age of 27 he received a Michelin star for his restaurant La Montagne in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, making him the youngest recipient ever. MasterChef Holland judge and new restaurant owner, Alain Caron, will be representing the Netherlands during the four-day event. He’ll also be joined by Sergi Arola from Eat-Hola in Switzerland and LAB by Sergi Arola in Sintra, Portugal, Thierry Drapeau, the master of bright, fragrant cuisine from St-Supice-le-Verdon, France, and Joel Cesari, owner and executive chef of La Chaumière hotel-restaurant in Dole, France.

The events

The festival will begin with a cocktail reception on Wednesday night, hosted by Bal Harbour Shops. Afterwards, Stephen Starr is presenting a fashion-themed dinner at Le Zoo with a menu created by three of the chefs. Each one of the world-famous chefs will also lead a cooking class over the four days. Thursday night features a Design-Focused dining experience headed by Chefs Arola, Cesari, and and Natali at Oceana Bal Harbour. The music-inspired dinner on Friday night, led by Chefs Natali, Drapeau and Pourcel, will pair tunes with dinner to create an unparalleled evening of entertainment and indulgence at The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour. Finally, the weekend will end off with a gala and a final dinner created by all six chefs.

The venue

Leading up to the Bal Harbour festival, Haute Cuisine held its annual events April 3-6 at the original location, the W Verbier in Switzerland. Bal Harbour offers the same luxury experience with a new backdrop. Given its history of hosting captivating cultural events, Bal Harbour Village is the perfect fit for a North American adaptation of the highly-acclaimed culinary festival. From book signings to designer trunk shows to their annual Collectors Weekend, the neighbourhood continues to offer extraordinary events for residents and visitors.
