We believe in supporting Canadian products, not for the sake of it, but because our nation boasts some of the finest brands and designers in the world. Amandine Sol Botanicals presents multiple ingredients in their product rather than a single one.

After years of struggling with acne and eczema, Amandine (“a-mon-dean”) Sol Azran and her mother created Amandine Sol Botanicals, an all-natural skincare line, based in Toronto.

Years earlier, her family transitioned from Montreal to living on a farm in Toronto. Azran’s parents were already involved in the beauty industry, owning a hair salon and a unique beauty supply store.

She was on her way to Queen’s Law School when she felt “jitters” and something told her it didn’t feel right, “but I was going to push myself to do it because I’d already worked so hard to get there and it made sense,” says Azran.

“I had told everyone what I was doing and I didn’t want to be flaky and indecisive. It was my mom who looked at me and said, “You don’t have to do this. If could do anything in the world, what would you do?’ Immediately I knew, I would start a skincare line with her.”

The mother-daughter duo intended to bring forward a product that could calm Azran’s acne, give her mother’s aging skin a glow and replace the need to use several products. However, it can be incorporated into morning routines, as the last product on top or underneath sunscreen.

Suggested by her mother, the skincare line is named after Azran.

After various combinations and mixes, learning the hard way which ones don’t sit well on the skin, Amandine Sol Botanicals formulated their first product—the Inner Glow Face Oil (and it’s On The Glow Sampler). The 30 mL facial oil tincture contains 17 ingredients sourced by Amandine and her mother and finalized by a chemist in Toronto, who specializes in organics. “We were able to learn about these ingredients, play with them and mix them together,” says Azran.

“We learned when you have [30] oils, you’re not getting all the benefits of each individual one. We ended up tailoring it down so you can really notice each benefit.” A couple of oils in the finished product are calendula and lavender, which Amandine and her mother also grow on their farm.

Differing from single ingredient oils where “you have to try six or seven of them to get what your skin is looking for,” explains Azran, the Inner Glow Face Oil is rich in vitamin A, C and E, omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 and fatty acids. It’s friendly to all skin types—normal, dry, oily, and combination—and can be used on the face, body, hair, as well as an aftershave or beard oil.

According to Azran, the mixture restores skins brightness, reveals naturally glowing skin, reduces dark undereye circles and visibly plump lines, and locks in moisture.

While she uses the oil for her sensitive reactive skin, her mother’s skin tightens and brightens, and her father appreciates the low maintenance aspect of only having to put it on twice daily. Her brother’s oily and acne prone skin, decreases in oil production and has fewer blemishes, adds Azran.

With its’ multi-correctional characteristics and minimalistic branding, she describes her luxury brand as “super effective and super simple.”
