GLORY Celebrates Soccer with Toronto Kickoff Celebration

With the FIFA World Cup set to officially kick off in Toronto just days later, GLORY gathered leaders from the city’s sports, business, and cultural communities for an evening celebrating the global game and the opportunities it presents for Canada.

Hosted at Dia Restaurant and Lounge inside the Canopy by Hilton Toronto Yorkville, the event served as both a celebration and a conversation about what could be a defining moment in the country’s sporting history. At the centre of the evening was a live recording of GLORY’s podcast, DeRo & the Diehard, featuring co-hosts Ben Botelho and Canadian soccer icon Dwayne De Rosario alongside influential figures Craig Forrest and Armanda Sá. Together, they explored tournament predictions, the economic and cultural opportunities surrounding the World Cup, and the lasting legacy the event could leave on communities across the country.

The evening also showcased a curated group of brand partners that reflected the intersection of sport, style, and culture. Roots presented its latest soccer-inspired collection, featuring apparel that encouraged guests to celebrate both national pride and personal identity. Atelier Munro demonstrated how tailoring and sport continue to share common ground, outfitting Botelho, De Rosario, and select guests throughout the evening.

At the bar, guests enjoyed cocktails crafted with Tequila Tromba alongside offerings from Poppi, while Sobrii hosted its own satellite experience featuring elevated non-alcoholic cocktails.

As anticipation builds ahead of the world’s biggest sporting event, the evening offered a glimpse into the energy, optimism, and ambition surrounding soccer’s next chapter in Toronto—and Canada’s opportunity to shine on the global stage.
