The chefs are at it again with the hottest food and sporting event this winter. Taking place in Prince Edward County on January 27, 2018, The Drake’s charity Barn Burner gathers some of Toronto and Montreal’s top chefs for smack-talk-fuelled competition, lots of delicious food, and of course, camaraderie.
Tickets for Barn Burner cost $25 (or $50 if you want to hitch a ride on the Barn Burner bus from Toronto and back). At the game, you’ll snack on complimentary finger food from chefs Emma Cardarelli (Nora Gray) and Nick Liu (DaiLo) among others, and all proceeds from the game will go to Community Food Centres Canada, supporting good food for all Canadians, as well as The StoreHouse Food Bank, serving food to those in the Wellington community who need it most. Tickets for the after-party dinner at the Drake Devonshire, where chefs will cook up some of their staple dishes, are $150 each.
The Toronto Grinders
Some of the chefs competing for the Toronto Grinders this year include Rob Gentile (Buca), Grant Van Gameren (Bar Isabel) and Ted Corrado (The Drake). The Montreal Mashers have an impressive line-up too, which includes Danny Smiles (Le Bremner), Montreal-native Anthony Walsh (Oliver & Bonacini) and Antonio Park (Park).
